Mace invokes 'both sides' on Capitol attack while voting against impeachment
On the day of the second impeachment vote, Mace drew moral equivalence between the Capitol attack and months of left-wing unrest on the House floor, then voted against impeachment.
During the second impeachment debate on January 13, 2021, Mace delivered this statement on the House floor:
"We've seen violence across our country for the last nine months. Our words have consequences; that there is violence on both sides of the aisle. We've contributed to it."
Mace publicly condemned Trump and called for accountability that same day, yet invoked months of left-wing civil unrest to draw moral equivalence with the Capitol attack, and voted against impeachment.
