Mace tweets 'Insurrectionists never stormed our hallway' to undercut AOC's Capitol trauma account
On February 3, 2021, Mace publicly disputed AOC's account of fearing for her life on January 6, despite Mace herself having reportedly told reporters she barricaded in her own office out of fear that day.

On February 3, 2021, Mace posted on X (@RepNancyMace):
".@AOC made clear she didn't know who was at her door. Breathless attempts by media to fan fictitious news flames are dangerous. My office is 2 doors down. Insurrectionists never stormed our hallway. Egregious doesn't even begin to cover it. Is there nothing MSM won't politicize?"
Mace posted this despite having reportedly told reporters that she barricaded herself in her own office out of fear during the January 6 attack.
