On January 8, 2021, in a GOP freshmen group chat later published by Politico, Mace wrote to colleagues she linked to QAnon conspiracies following the January 6 Capitol attack:
"I'm disgusted by what you and other Q-conspiracy theorists did last week in the chamber after all of the violence."
The message was part of an internal exchange among House Republican freshmen in the days immediately following January 6.
