Mace tells Face the Nation she supports rape exceptions: 'I am pro-life, but I do support exceptions for rape. I'm a rape victim myself'
On CBS Face the Nation on May 8, 2022, Mace said she is pro-life but supports rape and incest exceptions to abortion bans, citing her own experience as a rape survivor.

On May 8, 2022, appearing on CBS Face the Nation in the wake of the leaked Supreme Court draft opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson, Mace said:
"I am pro-life, but I do support exceptions for rape. I'm a rape victim myself. … she should make that decision with her doctor and between her and her God."
The interview came as Republicans debated how to handle the political fallout of an anticipated Supreme Court ruling overturning Roe v. Wade.
