Mace's account differs on every disputed point. Her office said she kept the State Department informed throughout both trips and that State approved the DHS-chartered plane that flew 155 Americans, including 11 infants, to Greece. Grey Bull Rescue founder Bryan Stern said she was "fully embedded with our team, not to watch, but to work to save lives." The evacuations she participated in are documented and not contested.

For context: Mace's trips occurred inside a broader Epstein-files feud with the Trump White House, which had endorsed her gubernatorial rival Pamela Evette. She finished fifth and last in the June 10, 2026, South Carolina gubernatorial primary.
