Patrick Bryant: 'I categorically deny the false and outrageous claims made by Nancy Mace'
On May 20, 2025, the day Rep. Nancy Mace testified before a House Oversight subcommittee, her former fiancé Patrick Bryant issued a public statement denying her allegations and demanding she repeat them outside the protections of Congress.
On May 20, 2025, the same day Rep. Nancy Mace testified before a U.S. House Oversight subcommittee, her former fiancé, Patrick Bryant, issued a public statement responding to her allegations:
"I categorically deny the false and outrageous claims made by Nancy Mace. I have never raped anyone. I have never hidden cameras. I have never harmed any woman. These accusations are not just false, they are malicious and deeply personal."
He argued the venue of her accusations was itself telling:
"Nancy Mace made these claims only while standing in Congress, purportedly shielded by legal immunity. If she believed them to be true and there was evidence to support her accusations, she would say them outside the chamber, away from her public role and protections and pursue them through proper legal channels. She has not done so, because she cannot."
And he framed the dispute as political:
"This isn't advocacy. It's an abuse and exploitation of her political position for the sole purpose of promoting herself politically. Her allegations are absolutely baseless."
Mace denies Bryant's allegations and Bryant denies Mace's; no related criminal charges have been filed against Bryant, and the dispute is the subject of ongoing civil litigation. See People in the Public Record.
